Day 1: Resolutions {Blogathon}

new year resolutions blogathon kowthas

A post on New Year’s Resolutions.

Blogathon starts today, and I guess I will be sticking to my agenda and writing as much as I can and will coz I’ve started it and I will see it through, regardless of who else joins me. Writing is after all, a personal journey and we take those journeys for ourselves 🙂

***

Back in 2013, I had sworn that “Fitness” would be the theme of my year, and it was. I swore and I stuck, through a lot of grit and determination that it will be the main focus word of how I go about my life and in all spheres of it. It worked, and worked great. I worked hard on how I spoke, communicated, how I did things for folks and how I improved on what was unwell and suffering in the various networks and relationships I was part of.

It was simply put a grand success, at least from January till the end of 2013. It went through some crazy, harsh processes but it was an overall a positive. I believe most of the areas I had attacked to make better, did get better. Some easier than the rest, but they all ended on a much positive note than where they were when they started.

“what you focus on, only gets stronger”

So, with all the extreme challenges, emotionally, physically and relationship wise that 2015 has wrung me through, I am in a way glad it is out of my life. (Or is it the other way around?) Either way, I was so happy that 2015 was done and over with and 2016 could be looked forward to ernestly. 2015 wasn’t a complete washout, just a wrenchingly hard year of emotional roller coaster rides, mostly that I was tied onto with no wish for me to be on it, just one maybe, but the rest, by Lord, people have been harsh, insecure and ridiculous and dragged me into their dramas. I am more peeved with myself for allowing though!

With those two lessons in mind, this year will also be of “Fitness” but the focus is more of personal fitness. Fitness of my mind and soul (and body of course, we are all growing old much quicker than our parents!) and protecting myself from the stimuli that surround me.

Yes, you want a plan, I do have the agenda for resolution in mind:

  • Meditation has been a great crutch and learning tool since 2014 and I will continue to work on that.
  • Yoga. I truly miss it as a practice and it will be on my daily today on.
  • Cycling. Badly miss the regularity of it.
  • I have a plan in mind for something am building and I hope it will see a form and shape mid-year at least.
  • Another small project that I will be working on that 2016 will see at the end.

If I stay on course with practice and spending more time on these to occupy my minutes, my head space and my zeal, I will be fit and the kind of strong I would like to see myself as.

2016. We’ll knock this down together alright! 🙂

Hey Rads, 2015 has been an emotional roller coaster ride for me as well. Highest of highs and lowest of lows. I did achieve a lot yet there was a feeling of under accompalishment.
2016 would be a transformational year for me in many aspects personally and professionaly.

      That’s wonderful! I did read it 🙂

Well, it really depends on one’s perception of blog. I started way back in 2005, and there are diff kinds. They are all journals and it is really a reflection of your writing..
Good luck and thanks for joining me 🙂

Hey Dad’s, fitness has been the theme for the past three years for me, and I haven’t bolgged about it much though, for I am not able to keep up to my expectations. Living the moment and earning from the mistakes of the past is there in my mind for this year along with keeping fit of course. Brilliant post there!

Think she is, but you know, it’s okay for bloggers to not be on twitter. I know a bunch and they focus on writing and commenting on other blogs for their network. Just giving you perspective from spending 9 years here haha 🙂

Personal fitness is a good idea. I mean when I say fitness, all that I think of is physical fitness.

Having a theme for the year is also a nice idea. As for me, I do have resolutions but never thought of having a theme.

Thanks for sharing this idea with us

Thanks Seeya, go ahead and use the prompts if you’d like.
Theme helps me coz i focus on the word and its effect on the various parts of my life. Whatever is ailing, needs revival and health 🙂
