nee oru kaadhal (Tamil)

It’s a quiet Friday night, and as I sit at the desk and tap these words while hearing this song on repeat, a myriad emotions sweep through me. Ones that are nascent, tucking their necks around surprising me, and then the ones that have been forgotten. I look at each one, examine them and place them aside before moving onto the next. Exactly, like I must have examined seashells back on the beach as a little girl. Collecting them all, stuffing them into a pocket, to come home, clean them under water. Dry them with a soft cotton towel, and then bundle them into a sack, and place it in a secure place. A place so secure that I’d forget it exists, till they stumble out without any rhyme or reason, and bring with them more intensity than one can handle.

Does music do that to you too? It does to me.

I share with you today what I find a lovely melody, a favorite for no reason, apart from just being a tune that can hold its own.

My fav spots –

  • 0.55 – 1.04: It’s just tremendously sweet. There’s tenderness and care, and you can’t help smile. To share a moment such as that is a gift indeed.
  • 2.18 – 2.24: Never mind the setting of the scene and story, the expression those frames convey is precious.

Enjoy IR, Mano, Chitra, Kamalhassan, Saranya and Mani Ratnam. In that order.
