voted again

So I voted, again. This would be my 2nd time having a say in the Presidential race in USA. Feels good ina  few different ways apart from the fact that I never really voted in India.

In ’06, I’d blogged on it and what a counting that turned out

Obama ought win, but historically it’s been proved that close races such as these could tip either way despite what the polls say. What do they say about statistics again? I ought know, I play with them all the time.

So went to my center, which happened to be the kids’ middle school, and stood in line for 50 minutes, just for the reason that my last name fell into the more popular block. The rest of the letters waltezed in and out. The lady in front of me and I agreed that perhaps this was another reason we need retain our maiden names!

As I stood in line, I noticed all these posters belwo that the daughters grade worked on. Remember the civics lesson and her pamphlet on voting. Well, they had a mock election day last week, and the whole scenario was played out. Democrats won all around.

Let’s hope we could say the same tomorrow as well. It’s time.

Did you vote? Doesn’t matter where you are located, but the question is, did you vote, recently?

    My first prez vote 🙂
1 hour turnaround time. If things go well, it should be the O-Man, but electronic voting, user errors, other unnamed errors, deliberate bugs, who knows! The boo-da is still out there trying to weasle out some last minute undecided votes. Chances are the next month will see a few litigations. There seems to be one already in your pettai.

    Munimma: *muaah* 😀
yeah, heard. Litigation ellam later gavanichikkalam 🙂

Sands: Ah, but the pleasure of the physical touch. Next time 🙂

  3. Congratulations!! Your candidate made it! 🙂 I voted in the last general elections in India (2004). I’m not sure if I’ll be voting this time. :-/ But I’ve been following this historic election more than closely. It had a few surprises – states like VA, FL voted for the donkey (VA 1st time in 44 yrs and FL 1st time in 32 yrs!)!! The elephant was just too sluggish this time! We saw history being made! 🙂

High five! Obammer’s home! And so am I after a whirlwind tour of the East. I have seen more sarees and jewellery in these 12 days than my entire life hitherto, owing to a concatenation of circumstances, which I shall hopefully have the energy to write about.

Cheers and a belated happy divali
